Have you ever felt that way Reader?
That you feel time and life is somehow surreal? That you feel like you are in the wrong movie or story?
This morning I woke up and I felt like writing down this poem.
I should point out that I'm not a very good poem writer nor do I claim I wanna be one. But I've noticed it feels good to write things down when I feel like it.
So here it goes my early morning inspiration in all its glory lol
When time keeps spinning, twisting and turning,
keep moving in ways you never saw unfolding.
Write it down and keep your hands moving,
you never know what magical stories come out of your hands once they're moving.
I'm reading this book "The Creativity Cure by Carrie Barron, Alton Barron at the moment. And I find it highly interesting. I'm not all the way through yet but I can't wait to share it as this book and the world we're living in inspired me to write this poem.
The book is about psychology and using our hands to work through our fears, insecurities, self doubt, anxiety etc. and what I've read so far makes so much sense as I can resonate to it.
We all have something that we're working through. It doesn't have to be a trauma from a very devastating situation or experience. It can be our normal everyday chitter chatter.
Or situations when we felt misunderstood, or not sure what decision to make. An investment we are keen to do but wondering if it is the right time? How we reacted when our kids acted out and we are not sure if we handled it right or if we should have reacted a bit differently....
Let's face it we all have those chitter chatters coming up in our minds plus all the tasks we have to do and commitments. No wonder we feel overwhelmed at times and would just like to pull the blanket over us and go back to sleep. Because at least when we sleep life is good and we stopped the chitter chatter. And yes I know the TV is another way to stop this. I've done that quite often myself just to stop my thoughts circling for a while. 😔
This book describes how working or creating with your hands can help you to ground yourself plus the awesome instructions and tips on writing your feelings down. First all the negative once to let them out of your system and then we turn it around and look for a positive spark. And I guarantee you if you venture out to find one you will. You just have to search for it. It's not always easy but a tiny spark is always there.
I'm a big believer that the items that we use to decorate our home with play a big role in how positive we feel or how cheery.
For example I have this image from a local artist and it inspires me to keep going. That there is light at the end of the tunnel. When ever I feel down this gives me hope. The photo is not the best in reality it looks way more empowering. ... I'm just not a very good photographer. Believe me in reality this painting really calms you down and the vibrant colours pull you up when ever you need some positivity and colour. :)
I started to create wonderful wall hangings. Simple, colourful and special memories that helps me to remember times when I felt surrounded by love and good times. I'll send you some of those pictures another time. :)
I love seeing them in the corner of my eye or look at them directly. The bright and vibrant colours picks me up when I need some light When things seem dark.
Is there something you can create today that could work as a positive anker in your home?
Maybe a wall hanging? A pillow cover or something else?
Share your creations with me I'm eager to see your creative "pick me ups" or "soul soother" when you feel down. 😊 It can be anything.

Hi Reader, I know I've been quiet but I'm working on a lot of things behind the scenes. The biggest challenge for me as an entrepreneur is currently to find my message and where I fit in. The realm of sewing is huge and most people divide the sewing knowledge into two worlds - Dressmaking and Quilting. But what if there is another world. A world that holds endless potential to combine, create and explore? Like a connecting thread between those 2 worlds. Combined with the power of being a...
Hi Reader, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and some relaxing days off to rejuvenate for the coming New Year. 2024 is here and I'm excited to dive into this new year and dearly hope that all our wishes and dreams will come true. Whilst I love this festive season I have come to realize that working in retail takes a little bit of the magic away, unfortunately. The relaxing time is suddenly not as relaxing as I remember it from those days when I worked in the office. LOL Even with all that...
