Don't create more - create with value

Hi Reader,

I'm a slow sewer and for the first time in my life I'm proud of It. 😊

I've always admired others seeing them creating project after project pumping them out like a factory.

I thought if I could do this with the ideas in my head this would be so cool. 😊 Imagine all those ideas finally come to life how awesome would that be?

No more saying oh one day I'll do this or one day I will have time for that but this one day never comes along.

Well... most creatives I dare say feel this way at one time in their life or another.

How about we stop putting this pressure on ourselves and just enjoy the project we are working on in that moment. Chances are that we have so many ideas in our heads that we are never able to create them all but each of those ideas may spark a small thought that helps us with our current project.

The other week I finished the quilt top of my centre piece yep yep that part is done... I'm slowly getting there...with a kindi child at home, casual job, household duties and biz building you can only get so much done in a day Lol and I've also started to implement those few things that I've learned from that workshop to organize myself. There is still more to do but I started with the steps in my action list and sorting my emails so I slowly can reclaim clarity with my current projects and my thoughts and clear my email inbox and still manage to attend all the occuring tasks. It's progressing well and the system is so simple but makes so much sense. If you'd like to know more about it just click here to be transferred to the website LearnDoBecome.

I'm super proud that I've done it. And to be honest I've done it with you in mind Reader.

I know you might be the one who got it all figured out but in case you're not. I wanna be on your side and let you know youre not alone and I'm going through this as well. We all do in a way just different things, or different areas that we have to work on ourselves.

Someone who might be able to sew lots of projects like a machine may struggle to let go and just rest for a bit. This person might feel like they are under constant pressure and have to learn how to wind down. If they don't, health issues may arise or just simple overwhelm or burn out from that approach.

And then you have people like me who are the opposite. I'm great in slowing down and winding down and see the beauty in simple things and searching for the magical spark in life but still need work my actions and how to organize them better.

And for me the journey in creating one project no matter how long it will take me is the beauty of the whole project. The thoughts that I have while creating, the feelings that I process while sewing or prepping material all these non visible things are stitched into your project one stitch at a time. It may not be visible for others but the feelings I had and the thoughts in my head are staying with me forever. And sometimes you are so absorbed in your creativity that you completely forget the world and the noise in your head and just create.

And that is the beauty of quilting and being a creative person. No matter what type of creativity you choose as your outlet. 😊

I hope today or tomorrow or when ever you are able to get creative again you can absorb every feeling and see your thoughts passing by.

PS: last year I've noticed I sometimes enjoy listening to some music from "back in the days" (I know right... I'm getting old lol) when we went out clubbing. It took me back to a time when we felt free and we enjoyed the moments out with our friends and the world kept spinning but it felt we had all the time in the world. "Like the way I do by Melissa Etheridge was one of those songs I loved and still love. At the time my English knowledge was horrible so I didn't even know what the lyrics where exactly but I loved the tune. ;) What is your favourite music from that time?

Sometimes it's nice to be taken back to those moments to those memories and be grateful for what we had and have now in our life. 💖😊 And those moments are a part of mindful quilting/sewing.

Hi Reader, I know I've been quiet but I'm working on a lot of things behind the scenes. The biggest challenge for me as an entrepreneur is currently to find my message and where I fit in. The realm of sewing is huge and most people divide the sewing knowledge into two worlds - Dressmaking and Quilting. But what if there is another world. A world that holds endless potential to combine, create and explore? Like a connecting thread between those 2 worlds. Combined with the power of being a...

Hi Reader, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and some relaxing days off to rejuvenate for the coming New Year. 2024 is here and I'm excited to dive into this new year and dearly hope that all our wishes and dreams will come true. Whilst I love this festive season I have come to realize that working in retail takes a little bit of the magic away, unfortunately. The relaxing time is suddenly not as relaxing as I remember it from those days when I worked in the office. LOL Even with all that...
